Sophia Marie Hume serves as Principal Development & Strategic Partnerships with SumnerBaird | Sea Glass North Carolina, bringing more than two decades of experience across luxury real estate, residential development, hospitality, sales, marketing, and brand leadership.

Raised in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, Sophia began her real estate career in 2000. Her professional background extends well beyond traditional brokerage, including executive leadership within The Ritz-Carlton and experience representing some of the world’s most recognized luxury brands. Those environments shaped her belief that exceptional service should feel instinctive, that details matter, and that trust is earned through consistency, communication, and an uncompromising standard of care.

Sophia has also spent more than a decade immersed in semi-custom and luxury residential construction, leading sales and marketing across numerous communities and managing teams of real estate professionals. Her experience working closely with builders, developers, buyers, and agents gives her a comprehensive understanding of residential real estate, from how a home and community are conceived, positioned, and brought to market to how they are ultimately sold.

Today, Sophia’s work extends across the Carolinas. As an Owner and Partner of Sea Glass South Carolina, she has helped establish and grow the Sea Glass presence in the Lowcountry while cultivating relationships among luxury buyers, sellers, builders, developers, and real estate professionals. In North Carolina, her role with SumnerBaird | Sea Glass is centered on principal development, strategic partnerships, relationship-driven growth, and identifying opportunities that create meaningful value across markets.

Sophia believes the strongest businesses are built quietly, through reputation, relationships, thoughtful execution, and the way people are made to feel. She does not view real estate as simply a series of transactions, but as an opportunity to connect people, recognize potential, elevate the experience, and build relationships that endure.

Outside of real estate, Sophia’s life remains closely connected to the coastal lifestyle that has shaped both her personal and professional perspective. She and her husband, Paul, are raising their two daughters, Olive and Ella, and family remains at the center of her life. She enjoys time outdoors, cooking, wellness, travel, and creating meaningful experiences with the people she loves.
